That's the whole idea behind ChemeGate. Most GATE ChemE resources worth using sit behind a paywall, coaching platforms, question banks, even basic formula sheets. If you're prepping on a tight budget, like most of us, that's a real barrier, not just an inconvenience.
I'm a Chemical Engineering student, not from India, and not sitting for GATE myself, but I've spent enough late nights wrestling with Antoine equations, LMTD derivations, and Reynolds number sign conventions to know how much a good interactive tool saves you. ChemeGate started as a side project to build the calculators I wished existed when I was learning this material, and it grew from there.
Right now, the site gives you three interactive calculators, the Antoine Equation for vapor pressure and dew point, LMTD for heat exchanger sizing, and Reynolds Number for flow regime classification, each paired with a full derivation, worked examples, and common mistakes to watch for. Alongside that, you'll find solved GATE previous year questions from 2024 through 2026, and topic-wise study guides covering weightage, formulas, and study order for Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics, and Mass Transfer.
Right now, everything on ChemeGate is available at no cost, with no login wall, funded by ads. This is a solo, ongoing project, if something's broken, confusing, or missing, it gets better because students keep using it and pushing on the parts that don't work yet.
